first we need to settle up a couple of debts

Thanks for the psychotic new icons, Tumblr development team.  As if I needed any further reasons to feel manic logging into this website whilst I piss & moan & surf exotic pornblography.

& thank you, internet friends.  For being the dutiful subjects of my unfettered ambivalence.  That I relegate you to the sinking depths of intentional neglect & you continue to peruse my musings confirms that you are all what I have long suspected you to be:

imaginary.

It is good to be back.  The entire universe has inverted for me this week so I felt it an appropriate time to resume chronicling the furious shitstorm of existence as it pertains to moi.

Constantly does the pendulum swing back & forth between attachment & impermanence for me (as I imagine it does for many new to Buddhism).  Perhaps even so with those more experienced.  I am doing my best right now to balance the incredible pressure & responsibility with a calm attitude & critical mind.

Not drinking, not smoking, not doing drugs = a really good recipe for getting shit done, in case any of you struggle to succeed in your most basic goals of Being A Functioning Member of Society.  If you cannot attain nirvana, try sobriety.

My friends are helping me overcome the new challenges before me.  & to realize which ones I will not overcome; the hulking failures that haunt us.  You are your shadow & all.

& you brought everything full circle today.  Back to when I was seventeen years old.  I nearly choked when I saw your name flash across the screen.  Like an apparition.  Like a ghost.  Chilling that you have that effect.  Lavender nostalgia with a hint of seasickness.

But thank you for saying hello.

I was beginning to think I had made it all up.

With politics at the moment seemingly determined to keep ploughing on their same destructive course because they can’t think of anything other to do, when we’re facing the possibility of an economic apocalypse, of potentially an environmental apocalypse, we don’t necessarily have an infinite amount of time. I think that since our leaders are not going to address any of these problems then we really have no choice than to attempt to wrest the steering wheel from them. If they’re aiming at the precipice with the accelerator pedal flat to the floor, then we don’t have any other choices left. Do it now, in this generation, because we don’t how many more there’s going to be.

Mossos D’esquadra & la Guardia Urbana scuffle with protesters in Spain.

To be GOVERNED is to be watched, inspected, spied upon, directed, law-driven, numbered, regulated, enrolled, indoctrinated, preached at, controlled, checked, estimated, valued, censured, commanded, by creatures who have neither the right nor the wisdom nor the virtue to do so. To be GOVERNED is to be at every operation, at every transaction noted, registered, counted, taxed, stamped, measured, numbered, assessed, licensed, authorized, admonished, prevented, forbidden, reformed, corrected, punished. It is, under pretext of public utility, and in the name of the general interest, to be place[d] under contribution, drilled, fleeced, exploited, monopolized, extorted from, squeezed, hoaxed, robbed; then, at the slightest resistance, the first word of complaint, to be repressed, fined, vilified, harassed, hunted down, abused, clubbed, disarmed, bound, choked, imprisoned, judged, condemned, shot, deported, sacrificed, sold, betrayed; and to crown all, mocked, ridiculed, derided, outraged, dishonored. That is government; that is its justice; that is its morality.

—P.-J. Proudhon, “What Is Government?”,
You’re either for us or against us.

You’re either for us or against us.

They have weapons, we have our dreams.
